Dr. Moczko holds M.Sc. and
Ph.D. degrees from the Wroclaw University of Technology, Institute of Building
Engineering, where he is presently an associate professor in civil engineering. From
1991-92 he was a research fellow of the Royal Dutch Academy of Sciences at the Faculty of
Civil Engineering, Delft University of Technology, The Netherlands.
His main research interest
is focused on the evaluation of concrete deterioration by means of acoustic methods,
particularly acoustic emission, ultrasonic pulse velocity and impact-echo. He also
specializes in fracture behavior of cement based composites.
In 1996 Dr. Moczko joined TPM Consulting in Wroclaw to introduce the most innovative and reliable NDT
systems for in-situ examination of concrete structures in Poland, particularly bridges. In
this company Dr. Moczko is presently acting as research manager.
He has extensive experience
in practical application of DOCter Impact-Echo for thickness and flaws, Lok-Test and
CAPO-Test for compressive strength, Bond-Test for adhesion strength, maturity for
evaluation of strength development, water permeability, Rapid Chloride Permeability Test,
corrosion mapping systems, RCT and Rainbow Test for evaluation of corrosion activity in RC
structures.
In addition to frequently
lecturing in NDT techniques at universities, government institutions and private
companies, he has authored a number of publications on modern NDT systems and their
practical application.
Dr. Moczko is a member of
European Structural Integrity Society (ESIS) and Science Committee of Polish Union of
Civil Engineers. In the Polish National Standard Committee he is responsible for
standardization of NDT techniques for concrete structures.
