NDT-Titans
Mr. Thomas Frølund has a degree from the Danish Technological Institute as a Chemical Production Engineer. In 1980 he joined the Concrete Reseach Department of the the Danish Corrosion Center in Copenhagen. Along with research in corrosion behavior of reinforcement in all kinds of cement-based materials, he took part in the pioneering work of using half-cell potential mapping on-site. The use of potentio-dynamic, linear polarisation and AC-Impedance techniques for determination of corrosion rate of concrete reinforcement has been a part of the research work as well as development of the ERE20 reference electrode. Mr. Frolunds experience from on-site investigations of several hundred different types of concrete structures with half cell potential mapping lead to development of an equipment using the Galvanostatic Pulse Method (GPM) for on-site investigation in 1993 - the GalvaPulse - for rapid measurement of the corrosion rate as well as the half-cell potential and the electrical resistance, enabling the corrosion behaviour of reinforecement to be evaluated in detail. Mr. Frolund is frequently lecturing in corrosion rate determination, on-site. Presently he is heading development of chloride and depassivation electrodes for on-site corrosion monitoring of RC structures. His structure experience related to corrosion activity covers
